Tiusanen, Johannes

Johannes Tiusanen (b. 1977) is a farmer in Satakunta, Finland, has a PhD and adjunct professorship in agriculture technology at the Helsinki University and works as a startup entrepreneur in underground radio technology.

In his childhood Tiusanen studied violin and music theory at the Pori Music School, now knows as the Palmgren Conservatory. His need to produce his own music was unleashed at the age of 13 when he encountered the ProTracker Amiga500 software and has continued composing ever since both with bands and online published home studio albums.

At the beginning of the 2000s, Tiusanen sang in the Ylioppilaskunnan Laulajat and conducted the choir of the Satakunta Nation, for which he also composed and arranged most of the repertoire. Nowadays Tiusanen sings in Porin Mies-Laulu and the elite choir of the Finnish Male Voice Choir Association, Liiton Miehet, both of which continuously premiere his works. In 2022, he received the third prize of the first P. J. Hannikainen composition competition and one of four “Man at his post” awards.
