Joutsimäki, Arto

Arto Joutsimäki (b. 1959) is a retired Finnish class teacher specializing in music, choir conductor, composer, and arranger.

Dir. cant. Arto has led various choirs since 1984, e.g. Maininki elementary school music class choir, Kerava children’s choir, Havukoski youth choir, Kervuset, Kerava music college choir Nueva, Show Choir Aventur and Rekolan Olkkarikuoro. At this moment he conducts the Karelia mixed choir and the Womens Choir Fem@il Singers.

As a composer Arto, wrote his first choir composition at the age of 15, specializes in children’s and youth choral music, as well as school musicals, which have been performed by different music classes and children’s choirs in different parts of Finland. There are almost a hundred works registered in Teosto.

On May 8, 2015, The President of The Republic of Finland awarded Arto the title of ”Director cantus”.
