Vehmanen, Jonna

Jonna Vehmanen (b. 1983), Master of Music, is a Finnish choral conductor, teacher, singer, choral composer and arranger.

Throughout her career, Vehmanen has had the privilege of conducting esteemed choirs on international stages. She currently works as a music teacher in music oriented Vaskivuori Upper Secondary School, where she also conducts two choirs: Vaskivuori Chamber Choir and Vaskivuori Male Choir. Her choirs have been recognized with numerous awards and accolades in the realm of choral music, including success in EBU’s respected Let The Peoples Sing competition in 2017 and the Fleischmann International Trophy Competition at the Cork Choral Festival in 2022.

During several decades, Vehmanen has arranged and composed music for many choirs, including Tapiola Choir, Philomela, Laurus Youth and Chamber Choirs, Vaskivuori Upper Secondary School choirs, Discantus, and Simonkallio Primary School Choir.
