Nishiyama, Daigo

Daigo Nishiyama (b.1994) is a Japanese music teacher, composer and conductor.

[As a composer]:

“About the Night of Michizo Tachihara” for soprano and piano won the Jury’s Special Prize at the 44th Ibaraki Prefecture Newcomers’ Concert.

“About Dreams” for female chorus and piano won 2nd prize in the chorus section of the 30th All-Japan Composers’ Competition (organized by the TIAA).

“Alleluia” won 1st prize (shared) in 3rd Tapiola Choir SSA International Composition Competition.

He mainly presents vocal and choral works in which ‘voice and piano are in dialogue’.

[As conductor]:

In the field of wind orchestra, he has participated in the Higashi-Kanto Brass Band Competition, the East Japan School Band Competition and the Japan Wind Ensemble Contest (National Competition) with the wind-orchestra of the schools where he works.

Bronze prize in the junior high school section of the 23rd East Japan School Wind Band Competition.

In the field of choral music, participated in the Tohoku Branch of the All Japan Choral Competition, the Kanto Choral Competition, etc. also conductor of Ensemble Libra (Ibaraki).
