Daahoud Salim

Daahoud Salim (b. 1990 Sevilla) is a Spanish composer and pianist.

As a composer, he has received commissions from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Spanish Association for Symphony Orchestras, La Schubertiada, Festival Bal y Gay, Eduard van Beinum Foundation, el GrachtenFestival, Sevilla Royal Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta de Extremadura, Orquesta Ciudad de Almería, Andalusia Youth Orchestra and other ensembles such as Fuse! o Solar Dúo.

Exeptional interpreters such as Martin Fröst, Casals Quartet or Juan Pérez Floristán have played his music. In 2022 he received two international composition awards: 1st Prize in the Big Band Composition and Arrangment Competition Fundación SGAE/ Asociación Ool-ya-koo, and the 1st Prize in Tapiola Choir Choral Composition Competition.

As a classical pianist, he performed in some of the main halls in Europe (Concertgebouw, Palau de la Música de Cataluña, etc.), won several international awards, and recorded an album with Challenge Classics, performing works by Erwin Schulhoff.

As a jazz pianist, he leads the Daahoud Salim Quintet, an ensemble that won six international awards, and has performed at Dizzy’s Club, Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York, Jazzaldia Festival, Bimhuis, etc.
