Giampiero Castagna (b. 1961) is an Italian composer who graduated in Choral Music and Conducting and in Composition from the Conservatory of Turin, where he studied with Maestro Gilberto Bosco. He lives in Italy and has worked as a teacher.

In the fields of chamber and symphonic music, he has received awards in national and international composition competitions, including the Bucchi Prize in Rome in 1989 and the Mozart ’91 Competition in Vienna, where one of his works was performed as part of the Musikverein season.

In recent years, he has focused particularly on choral music, writing original compositions and arrangements that have received numerous awards and accolades, including Japan ICCC 2025, Ave Verum Baden 2025, SDG Semarang 2025, Cornwall 2026, Preveza 2026, Seghizzi 2026, and the Tapiola International Choral Composition Competition 2026.

His compositions are performed by Italian and international choirs and published by various music publishers. He is frequently invited to serve as a juror in composition competitions. He collaborates with chamber and vocal ensembles and conducts two amateur folk choirs.
