Meurman, Tuomas
Tuomas Meurman (b. 1987, Kuopio) is a Finnish pastor and musician.
He has been arranging music for choirs and vocal ensembles since 2010. Most of his titles have been premiered by either the well-known Finnish male choir flagship YL Male Voice Choir or Histan veisaajat, a large mixed voice ensemble specialized in traditional Finnish hymns and folk tunes.
Meurman’s arrangement (or faithful yet experimental recomposition) of a legendary Finnish 1980s pop song called Pohjois-Karjala (originally by Gösta Sundqvist / Leevi and the Leavings) gained a huge success as it was performed by YL Male Voice Choir and released as a stunning music video in 2020.
