Ljungberg, Sabrina

Sabrina Ljungberg (b. 1989) is a Finnish composer whose work is rooted in Nordic vocal traditions, poetry, and contemporary vocal sound worlds. Her music is characterized by visual and spatial imagination, drawing inspiration from nature, mythology, and the evolving relationship between humans and their environment. Her works combine layered vocal textures with strong rhythmic vitality, creating immersive musical landscapes with a distinct sense of space and dramaturgy.

Ljungberg’s choral works have been performed and recorded by leading Finnish ensembles and choirs, including the Polytech Choir, Aalto University Mixed Choir Dominante, and Teekkarikuoro. She has received commissions from several Finnish choirs and vocal ensembles, and her music is published by Sulasol and other publishers.

She is the founder and artistic director of the vocal ensemble LEINA and the vocal collective Sabrina ja Saarten tyttäret, both dedicated to contemporary vocal music and distinctive artistic work. Ljungberg holds a Master of Music degree from the Sibelius Academy. Her compositions are known for their expressive depth, imaginative vocal writing, and richly detailed textures that are both challenging and rewarding for performers.
